CNN has video of President Bush comforting two hurricane survivors. It starts off really sweet at first, he really is comforting these women, and repeatedly tries to get them to pick up clothes at the local Salvation center …

Except, much to Bush’s chagrin, the center he is talking about has also been wiped away. Not the best moment to have out right now. *sigh*

Outside of that though, everytime I have looked at this video, it is prefaced with advertisement for the US Army. The second one had such platitudes like “it’s time I became a man” … but the first one was just so wrong. A father and son talk about the son’s decision to join up. The father is understandably worried. His son’s (scripted) response is (to the best of my recollection) “It’s the reserve … So they’ll train me around here until they need me.”

Only when they need you? THEY NEED YOU RIGHT NOW, DUMBASS!!!

Even creepier is the ending.

Dad: Good training?

Son: Dad … it’s the army,
