The Non-making of Wormwood[20050714]

Wormwood is one of my (sadly many) aborted attempts at writing a comicbook. My friend Adam and I were talking about different ideas we had, and he latched on to a minor joke one; a samurai-zombie-western. Somehow it morphed into kung-fu zombie western. Kung-fu was more believable, with Chinese labour being employed along the rail line.

Several attempts were made at a script, and we even got some art going. Adam made up some images that would be used as both posters and covers.

My brother also put his two cents in, supplying this piece for our hero …

The Man we never Named

.. and another, which I will post up later. It may surprise you, but he was NOT following any photographic reference, though Clint Eastwood’s iconic status in this project is obvious.

What happened? We simply lost steam. Neither of us made the time to write and while we probably outputted half a script, the periods between actually output got longer … and longer … and now, longest. Now the market is glutted with zombie stuff and we don’t want to be “lost in the crowd” (but if you are a big-time Hollywood producer, or know of one, we would gladly restart production of this fine multi-media franchise).
